This adventure is for advanced Alpha Dawn/beginning Knight Hawks characters. We will be playing the "Core Four" races from the Alpha Dawn rules, no Zebulon's Guide races (sorry). We will be playing canon rules throughout except where noted in the house rules section.

For generating your characteristics I will allow two options:
  1. For the brave, roll the dice four times in order and take what you get.
  2. For the not quite as brave, roll the dice four times to determine your stats but you may assign them to whichever ability pair you wish. e.g if you rolled a 35, 55, 45 and 70 in that order but you don't want your character to be a wimp you can assign the 70 to STR/STA and the 35 to PER/LDR. He's now buff but doesn't get along well with others.

Characters will each have 200 XP and 10,000 cr to spend during character development. This XP total includes the two skills you would normally get for "free" when generating a new character. The idea is to have well rounded AD characters that have just acquired their first KH skill. Characters that have been around and done a lot. The only requirements to skill selection are:
  1. Each character must have one (and only one) level of one of the five Knight Hawks skills (Piloting, Astrogation, Engineer, Energy Weapons or Rocket Weapons) and the prerequisite skills to go with it.
  2. Each character should posses at least one level 6 skill in their PSA.
Other than that, you may spend your XP any way you like. Because of the XP handicap BioSocial PSA characters have based on the skill system in the canon rules, especially when trying to accumulate enough levels to meet the prerequisites for the Knight Hawk skills, if you elect to to play a BioSocial PSA character you will start with 300 XP instead of the 200 XP everyone else gets.

One last note, there will be personal combat invovled in the campaign. I recommend that even Technological and Bio-social PSA characters have a few levels of weapons skills. The XP allotment accounts for that so don't be shy about being able to defend yourself.

If you want to play, please post in the Help Wanted! thread with your character's name, race, PSA and desired KH skill. At that point I'll create you a character thread in the Player Characters forum where you can post your character's full stat. Please copy and use the following template when you post your character in your thread:

Does the 200XP include the initial two freebie skills, or is it the two freebies PLUS 200XP? I went with the former for this, the equipment list still needs refining but here's the basic character.

It does include the two freebe skills. It was there in the instructions but you must have just missed it. I put it in italics for future players.

Well that's what I get for skimming instead of reading, at least I got it right by accident LOL

Character is updated now, I don't foresee any other changes. I spent my leftover 10XP to improve his STR so he can carry his gear. I'll post the final draft in character section.

Would there be any consideration for a point buy system for the four attributes at the top? As in, you get enough points that you could have 50 in everything, but you would also have 50 in EVERYTHING. I know this is an old school game, but I was just curious.
