Second Battle of Fromeltar

This thread will be for playing out the battle at Fromeltar on day 5 (Groth Station).

Here is a link to the blank tactical map with numbered hexes.

The UPF should select the location of the planet, the hex the station will start in and the direction of the orbit around the planet (CW or CCW). After that the Sathar can place their ships.

I've moved the sathar and the UPF station since there is no combat possible this turn. Here are the positions at the start of round 2. It's the Sathar's move again.

All craft decelerate by 1, moving forward six hexes.

(PS you only moved our craft 6 hexes, we started at 8 and decelerated by one to 7)

Hello Will, Good luck with bagging a Sathar ship at Fromeltar. Let me know if you would like to discuss your grand strategy for the UPF defense. I have posted a topic in the encrypted files concerning Sathar strategy and counters for it. post a reply and let's start coordinating the defense of the frontier.

P. S. Docking the unassigned minesweeper to the station was brilliant. Nothing in the rules requires the mine patterns and seeker missiles to be actively tended during an attack. This will keep the worms honest and rack up a few free kills. Good Job!

Destroyer group (3 of them) in 3224 will open fire with electron batteries at range:10
Single destroyer in 3325 will open fire with laser cannon and electron battery at range:10
Destroyer group (3) in 3226 will open fire with laser cannons, laser batteries, and electron batteries at range:9 (cannons get head on bonus)
Cruiser group (2) in 3324 will open fire with proton batteries at range:11
Cruiser group (2) in 3326 will open fire with disruptor cannons, electron batteries, and proton batteries at range:10 (cannons get head on bonus)

As the sathar approach the station, it fires it's laser battery at the lead destroyer but misses. The sathar return fire but from this extreme range only one electron battery connects causing 6 HP of damage to the station.

Here are the positions after the station has moved in it's orbit. Both sides can declare their shots for this phase.
