Should we start a KH Vector version?

There has been some desire expressed to play a version of this game using the KHVector rules. This thread is to gather thoughts and/or suggestions on the topic. In particular:
  1. Would you be interested in playing a KHVector version
  2. Should be put the canon rules game on hold or play them simultaneously
  3. Since the ships don't translate directly, what would we need to do to set up the fleets and balance the sides (i.e translate the canon fleets and stations into KHVector ships)
  4. What sides would you like to play
  5. Do you want me or Art to ref it
  6. Anything else I didn't think of

In any case, chime and and give your thoughts.

1. Yep
2. Keep playing, find more victims to play UPF.
3. Balancing by cost is, of course, only one element, though it works pretty decently in KHV. The original scenario is hardly "balanced" in my opinion... so some disparity in the forces is hardly a killer. The main problem is that not all of the KHV ships have not been ever rendered properly to evaluate ship cost. There is the ship spreadsheet (Jaguar454 and my creation) that allows one to do so pretty quickly for the ships that don't have spreadsheets worked out. Some questions such as mining and the like are more difficult. I think treating the mines as stealthed weapon platforms might work though. I did add minelayers to the VECTOR video game, but......

I don't mind running it at all. Another option, that is a hybrid is to use the canon ships and weapons and just apply the Vector movement rules. But I think I'd prefer to go full up with all the ships. We'll have to start working on and Order of Battle for each side. I almost recruited beowulf to take over the UPF but he wanted to do the vector game instead.

I'll work up a full scenario worth of ships in KHV. I'll start with an almost literal set, and we can whittle it from there. We can further simplify by using Fighter Groups.
