The MerCo AH-2 Hatchet has seen a lot of service among private corporations around the Frontier but it has become a popular choice amongst the various pirate organizations. Small and nimble, swarms of them can be quite effective. Smaller capital ships can host a squadron of Hatchets without a fighter bay, as they can be "holstered" onto an external docking facility affixed to the host ship's hull.

The Marauder is another MerCo design, and probably one of their finest craft. The initial production model sported a unique "radar decoy" mechanism that fooled other radars into interpreting the Marauder as other fighter craft, depicting outlines that resembled the enemy's own in order to be interpreted as friendly craft. Star Law and UPF were quick to halt availability of the decoy mechanism to the general public, however MerCo still managed to sell enough Marauders equipped as such to untold buyers and the mechanism could possibly be duplicated or reverse engineered. So watch yourself out there...pirates use these craft quite efficiently with or without the decoy.

The SIG-25, an acronym dating back to the first Sathar War that stands for "Sathar Intruding Gunship", is the mainline fighter craft of the sinister intruding foes of the Frontier. Since the formation of the SFC, the Sathar have been stepping up their fighter tactics so it is unknown whether the basic design is still in use or not. The worms have recently acquired the Pod Laser technology recently as we have discovered several groups armed as such, and speculation has it they may be integrating convertible systems on their fighter craft as we did with our F-40C Vulcan program.

Like all Sathar craft, an intact specimen has yet to be recovered. SFC attempts to capture one via ion guns have all resulted in the SIG pilot's self destruction of the craft.Suffice to say Auto Eject technology is not part of their fighter program.
