Simultaneous BattlesWhenever a battle occurs, I will set up a thread in the Game section to host the moves. There will be occasions during the game where we will have battles going on in more than one star system during the same turn. The question is, when this occurs, do we want to resolve them simultaneously or sequentially? Any thoughts? It may just come out naturally that we focus on one or the other or the teams could split up with one player running one battle and the other running the other. I guess in the end it is up to you guys. The possibility to do it simultaneously will be there but if no one posts in one of the battles then it will just sit there patiently .

Re: Simultaneous BattlesWell, it could get confusing running two simultaneously. After all, the boxed set only came with one star field map...
Seriously though it would be a lot to keep track of. Damage to ships (including non hull point damage if we go that route), ammunition, which phase the action is in (offensive or defensive fire, attacker/defender movement), etc Forever Three Hoverfans

An old high school buddy of mine posted complete set of excel spreadsheets with all the ships for the game over on starfronters.com a few years ago that I have downloaded. I intend to use those to keep track of ships for each battle. I can easily make them available as part of each fight. The Laws of Physics will be enforced.

Re: Simultaneous BattlesI know you're on dial-up. I think about it every time I post an image, actually. The battle maps will actually be smaller so that shouldn't be a problem. It will be a full KH map but the base map is just black and white. Without ships it compresses down to just 41kB. Even with a bunch of ship counters it shouldn't get larger than about 200 kB which is half the size of the FDM.

You can get them at http://starfrontiers.homelinux.net/data/ShipRosters.xls. This is a card for each of the ships in the game. I'll create a smaller version for reach of the battles containing just the ships in the battle that I'll make available at the start of each engagement and keep updated as we go. Re: Simultaneous BattlesUpon further reflection (and browsing the game rules) we will resolve one battle at a time. According to the rules, the Sathar declare all systems where they will engage in combat and then pick which system to resolve first. After that, if there are any systems with ships from both sides where the Sathar didn't attack, the UPF has the option to attack.
