IC For its range Liam's scanner doesn't detect anyone.

Would it be inappropriate for us to be wearing our combat helms? I thought they had IR built in.

You are quite correct and I forgot that- you spy no one using a holo screen and I'll heads up you if you do.

Savrax examines the holo tank before him and tries to manipulate it to see if he can turn the image in a way that it will reveal the outsides of the station. He is curious to see if there are any workbots, life pods, eva’s or anything of the like hugging along the exterior walls of the base.

Tanaar wrote:"Liam, Grelude and Slayerin, you meet up with the team from the Nightingale and secure the auxiliary hanger and then start working your way up."

"You got it, chief."

GM wrote:Liam, Grelude and Slayerin’s trip to the auxillary hangers took the longest. They had to take the lift clear to the bottom of the asteroid to Station Defenses which encompassed laser battery and rocket battery stations plus storage for reloads and six corporate flagged fighter craft. It’s immediately obvious to Liam (the former fighter jock) that two of the corporate craft have been used as “rob birds” to strip parts to fix the others and his over all impression is that the other probably don’t fly much either.

The actual auxillary hangers are out side the asteroid and docked craft are reached by docking tunnels. There is a small control room run by a young dral doing bad karaoke with head phones on and the music video he’s listening to is playing on the holo-tank. There are controls for the magnetic and mechanical docking clamps as well as a bank of cameras showing the outside of docked ships though one camera is out.

Can we ascertain from here what the down camera is supposed to be viewing? Either way I propose we start inspecting the craft in the hangar.

Grelude asks the young dral working the control booth for the auxillary hanger, "Anyway to get this camera up?"

"That one? Its been down for four months, who knows when it'll get repaired. It was down before but broke again within a week of being fixed. You're welcome to take a look at it yourself but since its been broke twice I'd guess the problem must be in the camera not the controls here. "

"Funny how Captain Skee is the only captain that doesn't gripe about the camera being down. He's a heck of a nice yaz, help me set up links to the entertainment files so I could practice from here- gets awful boring down here ya know."

Liam nods to Slayerian who pulls his tech kit and checks the camera relays, "Everything is fine here, Sir, that camera should be working, I've got voltage over the circut."

Liam smiles at the word taped over the computer console and uses it as a password gaining access to the computer after playing with the console's settings he announces, "That would be because the video feed is being shunted somewhere else. I cant tell where but the shunt has the same time stamp as the hacked link to the entertainment files."

As the trio of Royal Marines look at the young dral with delusions of being the next System Idol, he says, "What?... Skee set that up for me."

OOC: Only the corporate fighters are hangered inside and all the privately owned ones are in this external hanger/docking port- they can be accessed via a docking tube -going outside is a space walk.

Grelude's brain itches over that name Skee, something about it bothers him.

Savrax was initially stymied with the limited amount of external video on the asteroid but soon realized that the radar and other sensors were extremely good (likely a necessity in an asteroid field). The system had alarm features that could be set to warn of any condition and routed to buzzers, lights and chronocoms. Currently there was no evidence of EVA.

OOC: the base is an asteroid and its entirely likely that there could be nooks an crannies that would easily hide someone in a space suite if they stayed close to the rock. No doubt the RM ran careful scans as they approached and ordered anyone "out and about" to get back aboard.

Savrax chats briefly with the marine in charge of the War Hawk personnel. After determining that everything is ship shape here, nods to Mantin and Bodger. “Are you two satisfied here and ready to head down?”

Previously Savrax had been searching the area for signs of the princess. However, when he felt that he was being observed by civilians, he made a point to inspect very small nooks and crannies. Places where tiny objects could be hidden; not a person. He considered the frivolity of such a ploy, but decided that the personnel here may as well stay confused and off balance about what they were truly searching for. Besides, it may inadvertently bring some useful secrets to life.

As they retreated to the next level, he casually panned around trying to observe any body language that might denote anxiety above what would be normal for their presence. It didn’t take him long to realize that people were either entirely apathetic, anxious, or couldn’t give a flip if the marines were spaced then and there.

"Seems this Captain Skee wants a private feed of whatever that camera is pointed at. Tell me," Grelude nods at the dral booth monitor, "where does the good captain hail from?"

Assuming we have spacesuits, we'll check the exterior docked craft. Otherwise we'll nose around the hangar bay itself, checking the various nooks and crannies for our target.

OOC: Just a news flash I'm back to work and in a new schedule, in the past I did the big turn advances on Friday/Saturday as that part of the week I had a lot of free time but now I'm jammed up on Friday- Sunday with Wednesday off- I'm planning to switch the usual time for a game advance to Tuesday night/ Wednesday till further notice. so the following post will just be individual responses to PCs in your attempts to generate info or clues.

Also I'll be helping Geekmeter (bodger)by posting for him till we can sort out why he cant log in.

Bodger was attempting to chat up a tech, once the guy realized Bodger was an old rock hand he brightened a little-
"Have I seen anything unusual? Friend, Space Mines doesn't pay no attention to nothing unless it interferes with ore processing. And a smart man likewise doesn't pay attention to anything that isn't his own personal business unless he's looking for trouble especially down in the Core of the station, if you know what I mean. Planaron is a rough place and it just doesn't do to stick your nose in where it aint wanted."

Bodger on a whim asked, "Hey, my uncle's ship is the Rock Hound anyway I can find out when he was last here?"
The tech accesses the data base and pulls up the listing showing the Rock Hound's drive signature and radar map of her hull and a list of data scrolls down the display, "Yeah that name sounds familiar, Rock Hound use to off load ore about once or twice per month back over a year ago, nothing since. I think I remember something about her pulling out to prospect in K'tsa-Kar. I believe it was connected to a scuffle involving another crew of miners- something about getting off the mag lev track before the train runs you over. Before you ask I wont be able to recall which crew it was but it very likely was one of those crews that hangs out here under the pretense of mining but they don't actually seem to do any mining if you know what I mean."

The Warhawk's crew came back with "Nightingales is delayed with the ship inspection she's doing so we're detailed to shuttle down to the auxillary hangers and do the external inspection, Over."

Savrax looked at Bodger, "Rock Hound?"
Bodger, "Just my uncle's ship, lost touch with him."

"Gee, dunno, where Skee is from but he use to be first mate for Captain Slade on the Knightblade. Though not since he was picked up in an escape pod with a disabled homing beacon a while back. Lucky, guy he managed to rig a directional signal and get picked out by a freighter. Not long after getting here he came up with some the money to buy the Rock Hopper off a prospector who retired to Clarion. I think he said the Knightblade's engines overloaded and exploded killing everyone. Too bad the Knightblade's crew were good to party with up in the Core."

The dral continued, "Why would Captain Skee need a private feed of the external pick ups on his ship? Every captain docked here can enter terminal code for his chronocom and get a continuous feed on his com of the exterior of his ship. The camera is just a security measure to guard against anyone moving around on the outside of ships and tampering with them."

Warhawk's team wrapped up inspecting the shuttles in the main bay and are returning to their ship to scoot down here for an exterior inspection of the ships docked in the aux hanger.

Tanar pipes up on the team's comm channel when he hears the names the tech mentioned. "Slade was the captain of the Knightblade who attacked the Cloverdale, that AG ship we checked out. We later roasted the Knightblade near Warden. Skee was the first officer or other high officer on that ship and set the booby-trap we found on the Cloverdale bridge. They were running drugs off the Cloverdale, and had been supplying and short-changing weapons and such to the Liberation Front. I'd say he's as good as lead as any. If he's here on station, find him and take him to the brig on the Pelican. Let's get that video feed up and find out what he's hiding. My guess is that it is a cache of some of the things they short-changed the LF."

Tanar ignores the Vrusk's nervousness and starts a dump of all the computer's records. Once that has started he pulls out the images of the ship that left the princess's runabout. "Have you ever seen this ship?" he asks the Vrusk and the Star Law officer. While they are looking at the image, he initiates a search through the base's logs for anything matching the sensor readouts they have on the ship. He also pull up logs of any ships that have arrived or departed the base in the past 6 months.

Not privy to the entire conversation that was going on concerning Slade and Skee via the dral tech, Sav asks for more details. “You want us to try to locate both Slade and Skee? Do you have any more information on them?”

OOC: Can we access data on them on our persons, such as race, gender, ship assignments, known associates or known haunts? If not, then this is the type of information that Savrax is asking for.

“Is he (are they) currently assigned to a ship here? (if so) Where is it birthed?” As Sav walks on with his mates, he says quietly, “I would be delighted to collect him.” After a few seconds of wistful thought he adds, “I do hope he resists, at least a little.”

The vrusk's antennae flutter and his polyvox even manages to stammer, "I-I-I'm just an exec, I don't know anything about ship or their drive signature!"

The Star Law yaz answers, "Well, I'm tasked with keeping peace on the station so I can't comment on a ship or its drive signature but Skee is well known to me and I've been looking for a reason to incarcerate him for a long time. Back when he was part of the Knightblade's crew we had nothing but trouble when they dock at the station. He turned up a few months ago with a new ship after being found drifting in an escape pod. I've suspected him of smuggling and such but I can only board ships under certain circumstances. Even when I do, I don't have a naval background so I don't really have a good idea where someone would hide contraband on a ship or shuttle so its damn all tough to really catch the smuggler with their hand in the cookie jar."

The marshal coms a deputy with a question then informs Tanar that Captain Skee is likely in the Core at Blue's Bar, level 12.

As Tanar is riffling the stations computer files he finds a match for the ship that intercepted the princess' runabout, Rock Hopper, registered to Captain Skee.

Liam manages to tap into the rerouted camera feed only to discover that it shows the outside of the ship that look exactly like the one that intercepted the princess' runabout.

OOC: Liam, Savrax, and Grelude are currently at the access point to Skee's ship

Savrax, Mantin and Bodger are at the main hanger control room

Tannar and company are in Space Mine's operations center at the top of this rock

Tanar can reach a elevator to the Core fastest, Savrax, Mantin and Bodger can get there next and Liam & Grelude would take the longest.

The Core is a huge hollowed out cylinder that is ringed with catwalks at each level and at each level there are businesses with their front door on the catwalk but the actual space occupied by each business is tunneled "back" deeper into the rock like spokes radiating off of the "cylinder".

For the newer players: as far as the Royal Marines knew, Captain Slade and his first officer Skee, bit the vacuum back in chapter 1 when the Knightblade got toasted. The crew of the Pelican found security video on the ag ship Cloverdale where Skee, unknown to his captain set a booby trap with TD19 for whoever found the ship.

"Actually, I didn't expect you to," Tanar responds to the Vrusk's comment, "but you never know when you might get lucky. Not sit down and relax while I work over this computer."

After finding the Rock Hopper in the computer system and getting the word from Liam that the ship is parked outside, Tanar indulges in small feral grin and turns to face the administrator and the Star Law officer.

"Viddick," Tanar says, "you may have just lucked out. That ship was one of the things we were looking for and may just allow us to get out of your hair sooner than anyone anticipated. No promises, however."

Turning to the Star Law Marshall he continues. "Do you think your office can keep tabs on this Skee character for an hour or two until we're ready to pick him up without tipping him off? We'll be the ones bringing him in so that Star Law doesn't have to get offically involved in a completely internal matter but it would be a lot easier if we didn't have to track him down. I'd grab him immediately but I want to secure that ship first. If not, we'll do it the other way around but that's my preference."

OOC: More to come after I get a response from the Yaz. Also, where is Allyson? I just realized that she wasn't included in the division of labor. I guess since MOrab hasn't been posting in a while do I assume she's on the ship or with one of the groups in the station?
