Grekka tweeks her antenna and then says "Vrusk are known for staying with the group and performing all actions together. But on this world we do not know everything that is happening. Our original mission called for us to learn all we could. I believe we should follow this one and discover who "The One" is."

"Well obviously the other Ul-Mor seem to think this guy is a bit of a crackpot or they would have gone with him and he wouldn't be here," Dalmar comments. "But I'm with Grekka, let's at least go check this out. However, if he's an outcast, I'm a little curious how he has all those metal weapons. I'm suspecting a bit of foul play, so be on your toes."

Suspicion of foul play may have some grounding in fact, as when the party moved closer to the raft some of the other lopers had blood on them. The odd ul-mor roped them to the raft and invited the party on board. There was a small pile of discarded stone weapons but no sign of the other ul-mor that had come this way.

In brief telepathic contacts with just about everyone on the raft (the crazy old ul-mor has hands like an octopus and touches everyone at some point) he goes on about joining the one.
It takes the 4 lopers an hour to swim/ tug the raft to an island almost directly out from the beach where you all started.

The crazy old ul-mor goes ashore dancing. More cautiously the teal also goes ashore to discover a spongy carpet covering the island, a few meters from shore in a mound covered in the same spongy material as the rest of the island and as you draw closer the old ul-mor explains, "My old mount, has already become part of the one and now we can join it too."
As everyone is closely shining their flashlights the begin to notice the same grey/white spongy material growing on the ground and the carcass of a dead loper looks to be growing on the old crazy ul-mor too.

Then Rigel reacts suddenly shining his light on Gideon, "Oh my, there is some of this spongy stuff on you Gideon where that ul-mor was touching you!"

Others in the party begin sweeping their lights over their bodies and suddenly Kriss jumps and exclaims, "Its trying to attach to our feet!"

Sweeping to your lights to your feet you see little strands of material like tiny dralasite limbs that would be measured in a few milimeters stretch out from the spongy carpet and attach to your feet. many of you have some tiny patches of the spongy material already on you from contact with the crazy ul-mor or from it attaching to your feet.

Rigel pulls away from the strange fungus and heads back toward the raft. "Fire!" He yells. "Anyone have an everflame?"

Dalmar answers Rigel, "I do." and loans him his.

Kahn considers the implications of what he's seeing and calls out, "Parasite check." However, rather than check himself or any party member he scans the crazy ul-mor.

There doesn't seem to be much to start a fire with but out of curiosity Rigel tests the everflame on the spongy ground. When he does the ul-mor lets out a chripping screech and lunges for him. Rigel is caught by surprise and ul-mor grapples and flails him with several limbs [3 strikes 9 STA total] The momentum of the attack brings the two of them rolling toward the waters edge near the raft and the lopers that are still harnessed to the raft shy away from the fight and begin to swim out into open water.

Rigel tries to break away and shoot the Ul Mor who has unsurprisingly turned out to a be a problem. [5 SEU - 2 shots if he can get away]

Dalmar sees the loper start to shy away with their boat and jumps on the raft before it gets too far out. He'll grab the reigns and steer them back toward land.

Priorities, Get off island, Get white stuff off of us, Put crazy Ul-Mor out of its misery.

Grekka draws her weapons and attacks the island. Hopefully this will draw the Ul-mor's attention and may have an effect on the parasite.

Once Dalmar gets control of the raft, he'll guide it back by the shore and call out:

"All aboard. Lar Lines passenger transport is leaving immediately."

As soon as everyone is on the raft, he'll guide it out away from the island.

Kriss looks around to the fungus and sees that the Ul-Mor has grappled Rigel and started to attack him. He tries to move up to where they are and strike the alien with the butt of his rifle so they all can get out of there.

Through the physical contact Rigel hears the mental scream of the ul-mor, "Nooooooooooo! You're polluted by the other ul-mor!" [in Rigel's head he sees and recognizes the very tribe that has been helping them banashing this crazy ul-mor, at the same time in another part of his brain he sees the loss of the unity and oneness and a deep loneliness in banishment, in the same second he's aware of other memories through the telepathic link: finding the fungus and a weird euphoric madness as it grew on him, other memories that seemed like a drug related halucination of his loper turning into a shorter creature with hands and tools that treated the ul-mor and removed all trace of the fungus- at least in Rigels mind he comprehends a little of what he saw though he senses in the telepathic link that the ul-mor interprets some images differently]

Rigel manages to break a hand free from a tentacle but instantly the creature grabs it again. In the struggle they roll closer to the water and the ul-mor roars though the touch telepathic link, "I'll not let you hurt it!" It applies weight and pressure to force Rigel's head under water. With the water sliding up over his forehead and into his eyes and briefly occluding his nostrils as he struggles against the creature he begins to sense panic wanting to take over and uses it to find some strength for the physical struggle.

Everyone is in motion. Many of the party are, like Kriss rushing to aid Rigel ; Dalmar is attempting to save the raft and Kahn is trying to move toward Rigel but his med scanner is flashing a warning.

As Rigel makes a desperate effort to break free and keep his head above water Grekka fires her weapon at the ground. The move to "attack" the fungus and Rigel's desperate shove cause the ul-mor to be thrown toward Grekka but Kriss connects with a butt stroke while it is in mid air and the ul-mor is knocked aside.

Kahn yells, "Quick off the fungus and onto the raft!"

Rigel could not believe how strong the Ul-mor was! After being underwater and then suddenly having his attacker knocked away, he gets up as quickly as he can and fires his pistol at him. [setting 5, 2 shots]

Rigel's instinctive reaction to draw and shoot at point blank range tags the ul-mor with one hit. It emmits a pained chirping noise and attempts to crawl away from Rigel. Kriss is there and lending a hand to Rigel to pull him up from a prone position.

Dalmar is attempting to stir the lopers back toward the island but the shooting and violence has spooked them and his efforts at raft and draft animal handling fail, the raft is now 1.5 meters from the island and drawing out further.

OOC: @Jedion - will do. Unclear - one hit=1 shot, or 1 hit=2 shots, one of which missed. Not sure because of the melee going on.

Kriss wasn't expecting the shot to come from Rigel as he moved in to help him back onto the raft with the others so they could get out of there. "Rigel man, C'mon! We're on some sort of fungus and goota go!" Kriss grabs him by the arm and helps him (or anyone else who may need assistance) back to the raft.

Sorry, I got hammered with RL. Damn site I work at fires people faster than we can hire them so those of us remaining get to pick up those uncovered hours. 12hr shifts, days off are rare, I'm really considering dirt biking without gear and breaking a leg.


BIC --- Gideon is not pleased with what appeared to be a betrayal from a whacked out of his gourd alien. He has no qualms thumping the nonapus with his blade, 10% battle rage if applicable.
