Getting hit by a spam bot

The site has been getting hammered by a bot net today. For now I've deactivated automatic registration and am approving new members by hand so I can filter these out.
The Laws of Physics will be enforced.

Well, I seem to have come up with a defense. I've reopened automatic registrations. Enjoy.
